Quality Assurance
Quality and Performance Committee Updates by Cody Clifton
CPESN Pharmacy Minimum Service Set Standard Resources: Click here.
This resource will be available in the CPESN Learning System in the near future. For now, CPESN Networks may utilize this for QA purposes with pharmacies in helping them meet the six minimum services required by CPESN USA.
The Committee has approved a plan to implement the QA Standard by the end of the year and pharmacies will have an opportunity to become compliant with the QA Standard within Q1 of 2025. The Opioid Stewardship Plan Training and Pharmacy Self-Assessment will be available in the CPESN Learning System this month (tbd on exact date).
QA Standard Letter Draft for compliance status with standard: Click here.
The Committee has created a QA Standard Letter draft that will go out to all pharmacies in Q1 2025 to help the pharmacies understand what they are meeting or not meeting. For those not meeting the standard, action plans will be required. CPESN has created a resource for helping pharmacies address the List of Quality-Based Metrics (click here).
Payer Program Performance Improvement Plan (click here)
The Payer Program Performance Improvement Plan was approved by the Quality and Performance Committee in late September 2024 for local network leaders to utilize with CPESN Pharmacies enrolled into a CPESN Payer Program. This file is not meant to be punitive; however, many CPESN programs are starting to feel the impacts of non-engagement after enrolling into a payer program. This will be reviewed with the Managing Network Facilitators during the October MNF meeting.
The goal of this guidance for CPESN Pharmacies enrolled in a CPESN payer program is to:
Encourage pharmacies to voluntarily unenroll from a program if not performing and pharmacy states not wanting to engage.
Network Leader involuntarily unenrolling pharmacies from a program after criteria being met as outlined in the plan.
Utilize to improve enrolled pharmacy performance: Pharmacies can know their performance is being monitored and they need to submit a performance improvement plan to the leader for continuation in the program.

join and update pharmacy portal self-service
Updated Join Application and User Guide
CPESN USA has relaunched the "Join" application (Click here) to accommodate our participating pharmacy locations, whether current, new, or returning NPI’s. The improved tool provides a more self-service Pharmacy Portal in which updates to current pharmacy details may be completed by the pharmacy’s Business Lead. Click here for a user guide will provide supporting documentation to assist your network pharmacy locations.
Due to the ability to modify pharmacy details, a two-step authentication has been implemented. This may lead to your pharmacy participants contacting the local Managing Network Facilitator to assist with ensuring CPESN USA has the current mobile number listed in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool to ensure successful authentication code is received by the Business Lead at the pharmacy.
